FIBRE OPTICS
Fibre Optics Learning Path
Learn fibre selection, connectors, transceivers, termination, splicing, cleaning, loss budgets, OLTS/OTDR testing and commissioning.
Learn the technology before selecting the product
This path starts with the requirement, teaches the infrastructure principles, then connects those principles to the product families available from Server Warehouse.
A category relationship means the lesson is relevant to that hardware class. It does not state that every product in the category is interchangeable or compatible with every installation.

COMPLETE LEARNING PATH
10 modules
Work through the modules in order for a structured course, or enter at the chapter that matches the hardware you are evaluating.
OS2, OM3, OM4 and application selection.
LC, SC, MPO, APC, UPC, simplex and duplex.
Speed, wavelength, reach, loss budget and DOM.
Pigtails, splice trays, adapters and labelling.
Cable handling, pathways and protection.
Hands-on inspection, cleaning and splice workflow.
Calculate and verify optical margin.
Insertion loss versus event/location analysis.
Use optical diagnostics on live network equipment.
Test records, labels and handover.
VERTICAL DEEP DIVES
Field workshops and advanced chapters
Use these after the core learning path when you need to install, migrate, tune, test or troubleshoot the technology in more depth.
Use inspect-clean-inspect discipline so contaminated connectors do not become unexplained optical loss, reflections and intermittent links.
Use insertion-loss testing and OTDR characterisation for the jobs they are designed to do, with correct references, launch/receive fibres and documented results.
Plan a 25GbE uplink by treating host support, SFP28 optics, fibre plant, breakout behaviour, FEC and link budget as one design.
